GET YOUR ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION REPORT
(EICR) WITH O’BRIENS

Check you’re safe

Testing your electrics is an important business, ensuring everything is working as it should be and your property is completely safe. As a commercial or business property owner/manager, you must adhere to certain rules, so you need to understand your obligations in full and know when you need to be carrying out testing. We can complete full electrical inspections, so you can obtain an electrical safety certificate, also known as an electrical installation condition report (EICR), for your business.

The two main areas where we can help are in portable appliance testing (PAT), and electrical installation condition reports. We work closely with many businesses and we will be happy to work with you too.

If you want to discuss inspections and testing in more detail, please get in touch with us. Our team will be happy to answer your questions and will advise on contracts if required.

Portable appliance testing – or as it is more commonly known, PAT testing – involves the testing of electrical appliances to make sure they are safe for operation. The Electricity at Work Regulations say that you must make sure any equipment capable of causing harm is well maintained and safe to use.

This is where PAT testing comes in. Your testing must be:

  • Carried out by a registered electrician or someone with electrical qualifications
  • Carried out regularly enough for the type of appliance that you have installed

If you need help identifying how often PAT testing is required, we can help. We will provide full documentation after testing to prove that you are compliant.

SAFETY CERTIFICATE

As a landlord, it is your responsibility to ensure that all equipment provided by you is safe and in good working order. We can help you to do so, making sure you are compliant throughout the tenancy. Many landlords choose to have regular PAT tests, which we can assist with, providing all required reports and paperwork.

If you own a house of multiple occupancy (HMO), your legal obligations mean you must have a PAT test. This must be carried out by competent electricians like us. We will help you meet your obligations and ensure you are completely ahead of the game in terms of your legal requirements.
